Brunei’s CPI down 0.3 percent in June

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, July 30 (Xinhua) — Brunei saw the consumer price index (CPI) register a decrease of 0.3 percent year on year in June, the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics data showed.
The decrease was driven by a 0.7 percent fall in the non-food index. Meanwhile, the food and non-alcoholic beverages index recorded an increase of 1.2 percent.
On a monthly basis, the CPI in June rose 0.1 percent compared to May, following an increase in the non-food index at 0.2 percent. Meanwhile, the food and non-alcoholic beverages index dropped 0.4 percent month on month, according to the data. ■
